JEFF & CHRISTY
We are a couple who live in the Progress Ridge neighborhood, and are looking get more fit and lose some weight. We have two great kids, and lead a busy life running here and there. We weren't inactive, doing regular cardio, weightlifting, and Pilates workouts. However, neither of us felt like we were getting what we were looking for. We made the time for fitness, but wanted our time investment and physical effort to be as effective as possible. When Tone Fitness first opened we were skeptical, and unsure about "yet another workout place". Eventually, about a month ago, my wife took a yoga class at Tone F1tness with some friends, and encouraged me to come in the next day. This was about a month ago, and we have been enjoying classes there several times weekly ever since. I hope to share a few of our experiences so others in a situation similar to ours might gather the courage or curiosity to give Tone a try.
From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed and respected, never belittled or ignored. We've both done the mega-gym membership in the past, and our reception each time we show up at Tone is so much better. We are greeted by name, and the staff knows us, our workout goals, and what specific challenges or issues we are currently dealing with. After most classes, instructors and the staff check with us to see how the workout went, and to get our feedback about how they could help make our time there more effective. At Tone, our individuality is recognized, and our opinions matter.
While doing the workouts, of course at times it's hard (otherwise what would the point be?). But, the Tone instructors go out of their way to make our work outs as enjoyable as possible. There is consistent variety, between different instructors as well as different classes by the same instructor. The environment is set up to be interesting in the workout room but calm in the yoga room. In the R1de classes, each bike monitors our effort and gives color feedback to help keep us on track. "Add some resistance!" actually means something if we can watch a color change. All the workout toys are new and shiny, and we appreciate Tone's passion about having the right equipment for the job.
Christy cherishes the Zen and Sculpt yoga classes, and finds relaxation each time she goes, but she has also been doing more and more Bootcamp classes. Jeff bounces back and forth between Bootcamp and R1de classes, and leaves each time feeling like he's had a great workout. He'll be trying his first yoga class this week. We have noticed our endurance increase over the month, had some weight start to come off, and clothing is starting to get a little bit looser. We attribute the positive and supportive environment at Tone to be a big part of what helps keep us coming back again and again.
We strongly encourage you to come into Tone F1tness and give it a try -- we hope you'll find the environment as supportive and welcoming as we have.
Coming to Zen Yoga has been a life changer for me. Here’s the thing! Lots of us have scars from sports injuries, surgeries, or complications from radiation treatments. I'm 65 and although I'm an active woman I saw that as I was aging I was having more pain from these things and losing flexibility. I realized that at this point if I don’t do something different I would only go downhill for the rest of my life. I am not ready for the Power Yoga at this point, but the Zen Yoga has already, in 3 months, given me results I was unable to get in physical therapy. I am far more flexible and I feel like there is a renewal of energy just from being a part of this fun, super positive, supportive and welcoming place. I am so happy to have become a part of the Tone F1tness community!
I started taking classes at Tone F1tness in April, and I haven't looked back since. I am a mom of two, and the biggest excuse I had was finding the time to work out. At Tone F1tness, the kid's care makes it so easy and my girls love it. They aren't parked in front of a tv or playing alone while employees sit on their phones. They are playing, learning, and engaging with the employees. I love it. I don't have to stress about my girls while I'm working hard in the next room. The energy in this gym is so positive its contagious. The employees are so motivating and so involved in your personal goals that it makes you feel important as an individual taking their classes. Each class; no matter if it's cycle, yoga, or bootcamp is designed to challenge yourself individually and help you set higher goals each time. In each class everyone is so positive and motivating each other to do better. I feel like I am part of a family, not just a work out class. I appreciate the instructors because they take the time to explain things and help you with any modifications you may need, or any questions you have. I have not taken the same class twice. I get something different from each class, and I love it. The vibe, the music, the workouts; it makes working out fun. I have officially become addicted to this active lifestyle and I never thought that I would get here. I have made Tone F1tness a part of my life and have gained a great fitness community, more energy, and a healthier body. If you haven’t tried a class yet, get in here and experience this awesome studio for yourself!
The question asked of why I like Tone F1tness has a multifaceted answer. From a purely simple perspective Tone F1tness is user friendly, from the app on the phone for scheduling to booking the class, all services are provided. I don't have to purchase anything extra, everything needed for every class is already provided and there. From an atmosphere perspective, Tone F1tness makes you feel welcome, a part of a community, a part of a team. I have not once felt uncomfortable in any of the classes, and I've taken all of them. Even when I can't continue and need to catch my breath, figure out the move, or need to stop for a few minutes everyone is encouraging but also push you to go further and not feel defeated. The staff are amazing, encouraging, helpful, and have my best interest at heart. They allow me to be me and really where do you find that in the outside world? That alone is priceless.
From a very complex personal space of a 48 year old with an extremely high anxiety issue, it's priceless. I have been going for three and a half weeks and I already feel strong, confident, and part of a community. Because of Tone I have been able to sleep for six hours a night, which is not the typical three to four for me, and I have been able to cut back on the medications required to go to sleep at night. I don't like Tone F1tness, I LOVE Tone F1tness! I walk in and a feeling of calm, peace, and belonging fills me and I walk out feeling lighter, stronger and more at peace then I've ever felt.
I chose Tone F1tness because it is brand new, so incredibly clean, plus it offers Yoga, Bootcamp, and Cycling classes that the typical gyms can’t compete with. The staff and instructors at Tone are amazing and on point. I have spent years at the ‘gym’ basically not gaining much benefit. In trying to improve my fitness in order to stay competitive at golf I have found that yoga, bootcamps, and body weight exercises in general to be much more beneficial and enjoyable. I started out with the 3 classes for $15 special and loved the classes and staff so much at Tone that I joined and now am a regular there.
I was looking for the right fitness facility that would suit my needs when I found Tone F1tness! It's a place that is near home, has parking capacity, not crowded, clean facility, has a mix of different classes, really nice people and has EXCELLENT childcare(most important for a first time mom like me)!!! As a full time mom, it's a place for me to zone out, have some me time and it has proven to be so worth it! I feel I am a better mom as a result and the daily madness of chores, errands and parenting aren't as difficult because my mind, body and spirit is stronger!
I particularly enjoy and saw my growth in toneride! It was so difficult in the beginning but Jodie has pushed me to levels I didn't think I would reach! Each class is different, fun and always challenging! I am quite addicted! I always look forward to working out now unlike before. When my body needs some rest yoga is always there. Bootcamp and tritonal are also great!
Another thing worth mentioning is their superb childcare! The room is set up like a playroom at home with its own special bathroom just for kids! My two year old daughter is always engaged with the toys and activities provided. It's all about play for cognitive, emotional, physical and social development and I just love that! Shoutout to Corey who is her favorite! She looks forward to joining me in the gym now!
Thank you tonef1tness for the new me!
All the best,
Why I love Tone F1tness... Let me count the ways-
I love the instructors
I love the studio
I love the music
I love the equipment
I have been to studios all over Oregon and the country- Tone F1tness is the nicest studio I have ever been a member of- hands down.
My 2-year old has a hard time with strangers and it took him almost six months to get used to our babysitter. I had never thought of leaving him in a day care because I knew he would cry. My friends encouraged me to bring him to Tone and even though I was worried, I decided to try it out. I won’t lie; the first week was rough. But Tone worked with me so patiently, helping him get used to the space and comforting him if he got sad. After only one week, he started eagerly walking in and not crying when I left him. That was three months ago. Since then, he consistently mentions Corey and Heidi’s names, always wanting to hug them when he sees them and he lights up when I say we are going to Tone. Even on the days when we don’t go, he will point to the building as we pass by, asking for Corey or Heidi. I am so grateful that we were able to find a place where my son feels secure and happy, and I feel zero guilt for leaving him to work out.
I started going to Tone because I like cycling but the closest studio was 25 minutes away from my house, while Tone is only seven minutes away. I originally only attended their Ride classes, but soon tried Bootcamp and Yoga and I fell in love with Tone’s philosophy of total body workouts and total body relief. As a runner, my body is in a constant state of soreness and admittedly I don’t stretch as much as I should! Their yoga classes have helped me soothe those overworked muscles and Bootcamp has strengthened my upper body and core, and allows me to target hip muscles that I usually don’t work while running or cycling. After only 3 months at Tone, I have put on muscle and my running times are faster. I couldn’t be happier.
But even though I love their Bootcamp and Yoga sessions, Ride is still my favorite class. All the instructors have their own unique sets and offer different challenges for my body. I love Jodie’s class because she utilizes every minute of class thoughtfully, with each song offering a ton of variety in the choreography. Her class leaves me drenched in sweat, even with the air condition and fans on! And I love that I know I was sweating because of how hard I worked, not because the room temperature was warm or bodies were compressed in a small space. There is AMPLE space in the Ride room. I also can’t say enough good things about the bikes! I love that they use color to demonstrate intensity and at the end of class I can see how hard I worked, how many miles I rode and how many calories I burned.
In addition to the great classes and awesome instructor team, I would be remiss not to talk about the kids care and front desk. My kids absolutely love the kids care, which has a lot of activities. I can comfortably leave them in the kids care, which is cozy and secure, and go do my workout. When I come back, inevitably they want to stay and play with their friends. It’s nice knowing that they enjoy their time at Tone as much as I do!
